Scored Court Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Scored Labs handles information when you use the Scored Court mobile app (the “App”). The App helps you connect to a Scored scoreboard and record matches.

Information We Collect

• Match information: player labels or names you enter, game format, match status, winner, and score updates such as points, games, sets, and server. Match information is sent to our backend to provide match and score-sync features.
• Installation and authentication identifiers: the App creates a random installation ID and stores it on your device. It sends this ID with match creation and feedback requests so those records can be associated with the same App installation. The App may also create an anonymous authentication account to secure requests. You do not need to provide a name, email address, or phone number to use the App.
• Scoreboard and pairing information: when you pair a scoreboard, the App processes its Bluetooth connection details and the QR code or pairing code you scan or enter. A linked scoreboard identifier may be stored with a match. QR images are processed by the App for pairing; the App sends the pairing code or token needed to resolve the device, not a copy of the image.
• Feedback: if you send feedback, we collect the category, your selected rating, and the message you choose to provide. Feedback is associated with the installation ID and may be linked to a match if applicable. Please do not include sensitive personal information in feedback.
• Scoreboard QR feedback: the browser feedback form stores a random browser identifier, a draft until submission, and a submission receipt on your device. It sends your survey answers and browser identifier with the match ID encoded in the QR code. No app installation or contact details are required. You can remove the local draft and identifier by clearing site data.
• Android analytics: the Android version includes Google Analytics for Firebase. It may automatically collect app usage events and app or device information to measure use of the App and maintain the service. The iOS version does not include this analytics SDK.

How We Use Information

• To pair your phone with a scoreboard and resolve setup codes.
• To create and manage matches, synchronize scores, and associate a match with its scoreboard.
• To receive and respond to feedback you submit.
• On Android, to understand general App usage through Google Analytics for Firebase.
• To protect and operate the App and its backend services.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share information with service providers that operate the App’s backend, authentication, and Android analytics services, including Supabase and Google (Firebase), as needed to provide those services. These providers process information under their own privacy terms and our instructions. We do not use match information for targeted advertising, and we do not share it with data brokers.

Data Retention

Match records, score updates, and feedback are retained for as long as needed to operate the App, provide its features, and meet legal or security requirements. The installation ID remains on your device until the App’s stored data is removed or the App is uninstalled. You can contact us to ask about information associated with your installation.

Your Choices

• You can control camera and Bluetooth permissions in your device settings. Without them, QR scanning or scoreboard connection features may not work.
• You can choose whether to send feedback and what to include in a feedback message.
• Uninstalling the App removes its locally stored installation ID; clearing the App’s storage also removes it on Android. This does not automatically delete match or feedback records already sent to our backend; contact us to ask about their deletion.

Security

Information sent between the App and our backend is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. We use service providers and safeguards intended to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Children

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information. Contact us using the details below and we will respond in accordance with applicable law.
